Take Action
Dear Minister of Environment and Forests Government of India Paryavaran Bhavan CGO Complex, Lodhi Road New Delhi 110 003 INDIA [Email: mef@menf.delhi.nic.in] Re: Sundarbans megatourism proposals by the Sahara group of companies I am writing to express my concerns about the plans for megatourism in the Sundarbans. I believe that this project could have very damaging implications for the ecologically fragile mangrove swamps and local people, whilst further threatening India's largest population of tigers and compromising conservation efforts to save this endangered species. As a tourist, I want to experience undisturbed natural areas in a responsible manner, which has minimal impact on the environment and local people. I do not believe that the Sahara group's tourism proposals for the Sundarbans are responsible and so would not wish to patronise such a project. I hope that the project does not receive government endorsement and that you will do all in your power to make sure it does not go ahead. Yours sincerely, Ahmed D.PATHAN President/CEO GREENPLANET
